Lab Technician for Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT)

Job overview

The Lab Technician plays a key role in the R&D team in the HQ Office by carrying out experimental work, processing and analysing data, and preparing clear documentation and reports. This role focuses on executing well-defined research projects, supporting process development, application research, and integration activities. The lab technician ensures structured, high-quality work while contributing to integrate the process on MVP. This is a part- to full-time position of 32–40 hours per week, based at our HQ office in Eindhoven. 

Responsibilities

  • Follow and execute research projects defined for application development, process optimization, or integration.
  • Perform laboratory experiments in line with project structures and objectives.
  • Conduct accurate measurements and ensure reliable data collection.
  • Perform thorough data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Document experimental activities, results, and insights in a clear and structured manner.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and contribute to presentations for internal use and stakeholders.
  • Support laboratory setup, organization, and operation of modules and equipment if needed.
  • Contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of the lab setup hardware updates and MVP when required.
  • Ensure good laboratory practices and compliance with safety rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Applied Science, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Laser Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) technology, laser systems, and materials processing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python, data analysis, and scientific instrumentation.
  • Experience in using and maintaining laser systems and related equipment is a plus.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
